A Febus was known as "brush God" and as the "painter of presidents, kings and artists."

Corozaleño renowned painter, Sixto Febus, known worldwide as an extraordinary painter and restorer of artworks, died at 92 years.

His works are distributed between the US, Europe, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Central and South America and Puerto Rico.

A Febus was known as "brush God" and as the "painter of presidents, kings and artists."

The Royal Family of England hired to restore artworks from Buckingham Palace, belonging to the private collection of the Royal Family.

During that time he was housed in the so-called “Clarence House” and shared with the Queen Mother, Elizabeth mansion Majesty, Queen and daughter, Majesty Elizabeth II and her husband.

This humble painter immortalized Jonh F. Kennedy on a canvas, at the request of former US president himself, and his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy, ordered a portrait of him at the wonderful work of Febus.

Among the figures who were hypnotized with the work of this corozaleño include: Joan Crawford, Loretta Young, Lyndon B. Johnson, Joaquin Balaguer, among others.

Some of the works of Phoebus are: "Christ in Gethsemane", "La Carreta" among others.

Sixto Febus was born in August 18, 1918 in Corozal, however, spent the last three decades of his life living in Bayamon.

His studies specialized in restoration of works of art, allowed him to qualify to work restorer of artworks to the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. There he restored works of the great classical painters. He also worked as a restorer of works of art to the Prado Museum in Spain.

Don Sixto was hired by the Royal Family of England to restore works of art from Buckingham Palace, belonging to the private collection of the Royal Family. There he met personally and shared friendship with reinamadre, Majesty Elizabeth I, Queen and daughter, Majesty Elizabeth II and her husband. He also met and shared his friendship with Carlos and Eduardo princes, and princesses Ana and Margarita. His work included paintings make the Royal Family.

Don Sixto Febus was lodged, while working for the Kings, in a house-mansion known as "Clarence House" located in the Jardinez the royal palace. In another one of those houses mansions as illustrious neighbor, lived British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, whom Don Sixto had the opportunity to meet personally. Sixto Febus made four trips from Puerto Rico to England for his work to restore and paint pictures in the palace of the Royal Family. For his friendship with kings, Dr. Febus was one of the special guests selected to attend the wedding of Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth II.
